Brisbane, QLD

Back in Brisbane – this time with Judy.

We are here to help paint the home of the Director of Wycliffe Bible Translators in Brisbane.

I have been helping the Associates side of Wycliffe – we go  and help do work around the Translators homes – so that they can continue to do their work without having to worry about R & M on the homes they are living in.

The house is an old Queenslander with the outer verandas closed it. The walls must have been 12 feet high and were all timber covered – what we call tongue-and-groove.

We did not have to paint it ourselves – we had four other Kiwi’s who had come to help. Within 3 days we were down to four – lucky for us, the other two guys were both tall and painters.

The house was looking so good by the time we had finished. Judy and I rented a car for a few days up north.

We stayed in Maroochydore  and visited my friend Terry and family again.  Queensland is hot at this time of the year and we went to their Shopping mall. The first time I visited it, I wondered why so many old people just sitting around. I should have realised – they do not have AC at home – so they meet their friends in the mall where it is nice and cool.

I love this area in Queensland.
