Day 2 was a full on day. After a late start Ruth and I were heading into city centre to the China Art Musuem. To get there we travelled by bus about 15 minutes then down to the metro line 7. The Shanghai Metro would have to be one of the best in the world. The trains are on time and very quick. From the photo – you can see what a very unusual building. After going thru bag check – we started up and up and up – all on the longest escalators i have seen. At the top of the building we now looking at the art. By following to arrows you slowly work you way down the building. Ending up in the basement which is full of shops. Very interesting building.
Back on the metro to Peoples Square. Lots to see and eat. I did nearly 14000 steps.
Now dinner was a first for me. We had Hot pot – but Ruth selected the live fish that were going to eat. The hot pot was on our table cooking up the soup – to which we added sweet corn and yams.
About thirty minutes later when the soup was ready our fish arrived. They had cut it into tissue thick pieces two per plate. Ruth then cooked one plate at a time for about 30 seconds. With soy sauce and vinegar added it was melt in our mouth. Wonderful experence then home james via metro and chinese taxi
