Today was our first full day in Canada. Good night sleep helped us to get up and about early. Conference does not start until tonight so we are off into the city.
The hotel has a free shuttle bus to the airport, where we got the airport express train into Union station. 25 minute ride.
Aucklands talk of tram from airport to city is crazy. Tourists do not want to take more than 1 hour to go by tram thru very busy Auckland streets. sorry about my rant.
We waked from the train station to the Art Gallery of Ontario. Very interesting and well worth a few hours of your time. from there walked to Yonge road and back to the waterfront. lake Ontario has an island with ferries crossing. very busy. Also has an airport for small domestic planes. From that part of the island there is a passenger tunnel – which makes it very quick and easy to get to downtown Toronto in minutes.
By the time we got back to the train and hotel we had done 19000 steps.
After the conference welcoming dinner – we were not long out of bed. we both went out like lights.
All day conference tomorrow.
