Early start today – we have a 20 minute walk to the Train station – with our bags.
Must say that the footpaths around Montreal are in need of repair – so hard on wheely bags.
The train to Ottawa has no baggage car – so we have to take our bags onto the train – and guess what – some people have no brains when it comes to placing their bags on train. poor staff – she had to pull them all out and repack so that we and the others behind us could get our bags in.
That said – the seats were very good and the trip was interesting. All flat farmland and I am guessing we saw a lot of “Canola Oil” being grown.
Ottawa railway station is now miles from the city centre and you are forced to take a bus or taxi.
Our AirBnb was not ready so we had a bit of a wait – then got a taxi to go there.
Nice room – with everything we needed – the Man of the house offered to drive us to Walmarts to pick up some food and we walked back. So again mostly a walking day.
Worked out that the #14 bus was going to get us into town for our sightseeing the next day.
