Thursday night i must have been tireder than i thought – cause i had the best nights sleep since being here in Peru.
Did not have any plans so i knew i could sleep in – and i did.
The weather in Lima was nice and warm but looked overcast. This is normal Lima weather.
Looked like good walking weather – so off i went to find the markets near to the hotel i stayed at last time in Peru.
I spend a lot of time looking around but did not buy anything. By this time it was lunch time – so i continued until i got to the same lunch place i had eaten at 7 years ago. It was called Haiti and i swear the same waiters were there. Service was great and so was the lunch and beer. Took my time eating and watching the people go by. This place is just opposite kenedy park – this park is the cat park – hundreds of strays. Sandra tells me the local church started to feed a few strays years ago and it has grown from that.
After lunch i walked down toward the ocean – yes our pacific ocean – but from the other side. And started in the park of love. And yes the cliffs are high enough to do damage if two people jumped off. Along further there were guys doing just that. Jumping off the cliffs but with their big para glider sails on. The wind currents from the ocean lifted them up quickly and they were able to travel the coast line at some great heights. Watched and took photos of take offs and landings. Some had passengers but i was not tempted. Continued to walk home. Total steps for the day 13000. Most walking i have done this trip.
When my host Sandra came home we went to a very nice restaurant called Amaz and as you can guess the food was from the jungle or served jungle style. Two of our dishes had been cooked wrapped in banana leaves and the third dish was raw tuna. It was great – the whole meal got cleaned up – the local wine went down a treat too. Time for dessert – the chocolate banana came in half a cacao shell – taste to die for. Best meal i have had so far in Peru and i would highly recommend this place.
It was after 11 by the time i got to bed – reason for this being done this morning.
I have a taxi booked to get me to the airport in plently of time for my flight. I already have my boarding pass – but the queues to check in luggage will be miles long.
Tonight i sleep in Ecuador and again a guide and driver will control my every day for the next seven days.
